If you ask Michael Kinder what he does, he'll tell you he's a drummer --- which he is. He's been playing the drums for respected bands all over the Pacific Northwest since he was 14. That's how a lot of people know him.

But he is also a full time Administrator/Chemical Dependency Professional for an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center. He's a music promoter and booking agent. He's the MC for his bands and is always ready with a joke or story. He's a fundraiser for local and national musicians who face need. He's an activist for issues affecting chemical dependency law and musician's rights. He's a specialist on chemical dependency intervention and is sought out nationally to help families confront their loved ones. He's the guy who will spend hours hooking up friends, families, and community members with resources of all kinds.

He blows out his Blue Tooth regularly, doesn't eat right, or get enough sleep. He'd give you the last $5 in his wallet because he believes there will always be more. And he has another very telling characteristic: Michael maintains long-term friendships....friendships that have spanned two, three, & four decades. He's quick to give credit to those who went before him. He marches to his own funky beat and invites everybody along to the parade.

Michael is a connector -- of people to people; people to resources; and people to live, 'deep-in-the- pocket' music.
